TUREC is dedicated to equipping students for investment and career success in the real estate sector by cultivating a practical understanding of real estate finance, and fostering valuable industry connections.

INTERVIEW PREPARATION

- Offer guidance on various career paths within the real estate industry, helping members explore opportunities aligned with their interests and skills.

- Provide resources and workshops for successful real estate interviews, enhancing students' confidence and readiness for the workforce.

- Teach students effective strategies for personal investing in real estate, empowering them to build wealth over time.

- Educate students on investment thesis development and risk mitigation strategies to fostering a responsible and informed approach to personal finance.

PERSONAL INVESTMENT STRATEGY

Recently, we invited guest speaker Gerard Sansosti, an Executive Managing Director at JLL (CMU '84).

EXPLORATION OF REAL ESTATE MARKETS

- Dive into current events affecting global real estate markets to help students understand the dynamics influencing property values.

- Equip students with knowledge of historical events in real estate and develop a holistic understanding of the processes that dictate macro trends.

FINANCIAL MODELING SKILLS

- Develop students' financial modeling skills, which are crucial for assessing the viability and profitability of real estate projects and investments.

- Strive for proficiency through practical exercises and case studies that give students hands-on experience creating financial models.

Professor Rutledge, our faculty head, briefed us on how the Tepper building came to be. We ate pizzas while listening to him tell the captivating story.
